ABOUT

I chase the light - the fleeting moments when it transforms the ordinary into something luminous, quiet, and alive...

I am a contemporary realist painter driven by a desire to capture how light moves, shifts, and shapes the world around us. My work begins with observation, but it’s those ephemeral moments—glimmering across water, filtering through trees, or dissolving into atmosphere—that guide each painting.

With classical training from the Art Students League in New York and the Angel Academy in Florence, Italy, I developed a strong foundation in traditional techniques. That discipline continues to shape my work today, allowing me to explore light with both precision and sensitivity.

In recent years, I’ve turned my focus to the lake behind my studio in Connecticut. This ongoing series has become a daily study of reflection, transparency, and movement - how light travels across the surface, disappears into the depths, and re-emerges in shifting color. These close-up views invite a quiet, immersive experience, drawing the viewer into a moment of calm and presence.

I also paint marsh landscapes from places that are personal to me, primarily throughout Connecticut and New York. These works reflect a similar sensibility - stillness, subtle movement, and the quiet beauty of light in the natural world.

My work has been recognized with numerous awards, including honors from The Artist’s Magazine, a curator from the Guggenheim Museum, and multiple Best in Show distinctions. I am an elected member of the Lyme Art Association, Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, Madison Art Society, the Academic Artists Association and the American Artists Professional League.  I'm also an associate member of Oil Painters of America.

I am currently showing at the BACA Gallery in Branford, Connecticut.
